Los Angeles Metro’s Rail Fleet Services (RFS) received the Bright Ideas Award for their implementation of the Connixt iMarq™ mobile application suite for digitizing maintenance. The award recognized the successful deployment of iMarq at each division to improve the efficiency of SGR inspections, Daily inspections, Preventive Maintenance and Vehicle Cleanliness inspections. iMarq has helped eliminate paper use and increase data accuracy by direct integration of the tablet-based inspections system into Metro’s back-end CMMS/EAM system.
Bob Spadafora, Senior Executive Officer, RFS, emphasized that the success of this multi-division rollout, especially during pandemic times, was the result of the teamwork between Metro’s RFS and Information Technology Services (ITS) team and Connixt. The implementation process included regular feedback from managers, supervisors and frontline employees that were incorporated in the implementation.
The award was presented at a virtual Annual Operations Retreat hosted in July 2021 by LA Metro’s Chief Operations Officer.
