Unpacking a Year of Trade Shows: Connixt’s Key Takeaways

Emma Johnson

It’s been a busy year at Connixt. We had the privilege of attending several events this year, and each one was a treasure trove of insights, connections, and unforgettable experiences. Each event was a unique experience that taught us something new and helped us grow as a company.

From Railways to Highways

Trade shows and events offer a great opportunity to get a snapshot of the industry while bringing everyone in the field together. This was exactly our experience at the AREMA Expo 2023, which took place in Indianapolis, USA, between October 1-4, 2023.

For us transportation industry enthusiasts, the expo was a rich source of insights into the landscape of railways, covering everything from communication systems to track maintenance. Thanks to our client, RELAM, for recommending we go to the event—it was the right call. It paid off when one of the biggest names in the business recognized us, having learned about our work from our interview with RELAM.

Interview with RELAM

The event was a clear marker of the urgent need for digital solutions in railway maintenance. The people we spoke to emphasized the need for a flexible, mobile, and real-time system to maintain and manage equipment efficiently. Why? Because the railway industry is literally comprised of several moving parts – cars, engines, depots, maintenance yards, maintenance of way requirements, and more, scattered over large areas. Many attendees were particularly interested in learning more about Connixt iMarq’s ready ability to meet these diverse needs across the entire ecosystem.

A Journey Across Industries

One key insight we gained all through 2023 is that iMarq is exceptionally well-suited to meet the demands of multiple industries, not just one. This was evident at CONEXPO-CON/AGG 2023, North America’s biggest construction show, which took place between March 14-18, 2023, in Las Vegas, USA.

We were amazed by the vast scope of the construction sector, encompassing everything from oil platforms to major roadways and hefty machinery. Connixt’s five-day stint at the expo was filled with insightful learning sessions and endless networking chances. The event surpassed anticipated participant numbers, attracting over 139,000 professionals in construction and fluid power from 133 nations. Additionally, there were more than 2,400 exhibitors from 36 countries. This was truly phenomenal! The expo highlighted the construction industry’s shift towards embracing sustainable technologies, products, and methods. We were treated to sustainability in action, from electric and hydrogen-powered construction equipment to more recyclable materials and waste reduction opportunities.

Following our involvement in the construction and railway sectors, Connixt took part in APTA Expo 2023. This event is a hub for everything related to public transportation and mobility. Our booth showcased how iMarq enhances the maintenance of transportation fleets, thereby ensuring efficiency, safety and compliance – all key areas of interest for the industry at large.

Showcasing Innovation at Geotab Connect and Trimble Insight

As we reflect on the year 2023, two expos stand out for us. Let’s start with Geotab Connect 2023, held from February 5-8, 2023, in Orlando, Florida.

As a frontrunner in IoT and fleet management, Geotab’s gathering brought together some of the world’s most advanced fleets, offering fresh perspectives on leveraging data for innovation and digital overhaul to boost cost efficiency, operational effectiveness, safety, and eco-friendliness. It was evident that for companies to outpace their rivals, they must fast-track their digital evolution. Connixt stands in a unique position to facilitate this shift, enhancing productivity, fostering growth, and achieving sustainability targets.

The event served as an ideal platform to demonstrate our integration with Geotab, which equips Geotab-enabled fleets to maximize value, extending benefits to maintenance crews and the technicians who ensure fleet operations run smoothly. The added value generated through this integration was appreciated by Geotab’s distributors.

As the year winds down, last but not least, was the Trimble Insight Tech Conference + Expo 2023. The four-day gathering, which took place between September 24-27, 2023, in Las Vegas, offered an in-depth look at the challenges and innovations in the transportation sector.

Our Business Development Representative, Evan Ufkes, was in attendance. Interestingly, Evan’s eye patch—worn due to a recent accident—became a conversation starter. Needless to say, the conversations often began with queries about the eye patch but quickly transitioned into meaningful discussions about iMarq. Connixt greatly appreciate the diverse perspectives gained during these interactions.

But what really caught our attention, though, was the Industry Partner Showdown—a game-show-like contest where companies gave quick, live demos of their latest products.

Our CEO, G. Satish, took the stage in the Industry Partner Showdown to showcase the capabilities of iMarq. Our aim? To highlight how iMarq’s features can elevate not just the transportation sector but also have a ripple effect across various industries.

During the 5-minute demo, G. Satish delved into the multiple use cases of iMarq, demonstrating how it can transform asset maintenance. The demo was laced with quick wit and humor, earning us a resounding round of applause. This experience further solidified our commitment to developing solutions that are simple, fast, and purposeful, offering real value to our customers.

Wrapping Up

Reflecting on the past year’s events and the myriad of connections forged, three universal truths emerge that resonate across all industries, regardless of the specific use case:

  • The rapid ascent of digitalization and artificial intelligence is undeniable, with an increasing number of organizations adopting these advancements to secure a competitive advantage.
  • The regulatory landscape governing asset maintenance remains intricate, presenting ongoing challenges.
  • The complexity of compliance requirements is escalating across various sectors, and the digitization of maintenance processes is key to keeping pace with the stringent demands of state and federal regulations.

Our takeaway? Connixt iMarq is uniquely equipped to tackle these areas.  With iMarq, companies can navigate the complexities of regulations, embrace digital transformation, and ensure compliance is seamlessly integrated into their operations, positioning them for future success.

With 2024 coming up, we look forward to more opportunities to connect, learn, and contribute to the ever-evolving landscape of asset maintenance.

Until we meet again!
