I have written a few of these notes over the years, and I will admit that this one is harder to write than most. Not because the news is complicated; quite the opposite really, it is simple: Connixt has been named a winner in two categories of the 2026 Progressive Railroading Readers’ Choice Awards, Artificial Intelligence and Existing Product, New Feature, for iBot, the AI assistant we have built into iMarq. It is the second year in a row our industry has recognized us this way.
The reason this is hard to write is that I keep wanting to talk about everyone else before I talk about us.
This award is not decided by a panel behind closed doors. It is voted on by the rail professionals (including several customers) who work in the yard, on the line, and in the back office trying to keep everything running on schedule. When an industry votes for you, it is not really voting for a company; it is telling you that something you built actually mattered to the people doing the work. That is the only kind of recognition Prabu and I have ever cared about, and it is the only kind that keeps us up at night trying to earn it again.
So before anything else: thank you!
Thank you to our customers, who trusted us before we had ten years of history behind us, and who trust us now with the tools their crews rely on to get through a shift safely and on time. Every question you asked, every workaround you needed, every piece of feedback you took the time to give us: that is what built iBot. Pinpoint, the newest capability inside iBot, exists in its current form because customers running early versions in the field told us exactly what was missing. This award has your fingerprints on it.
Thank you to our partners, who have stood behind us through integrations, pilots, and the unglamorous work of making two (or more!) systems talk to each other correctly. Rail is an unforgiving environment for software. Nothing gets built alone in it, and we know that.
And thank you to every person on the Connixt team, who has ever stayed late to fix something before a customer noticed, who has sat in a rail yard with a technician trying to understand a workflow instead of assuming we already knew it, and who has pushed back on an idea internally because it would not have actually helped the crew using it. Prabu says often (and I agree completely) that we do not build technology for the sake of technology. We have you to thank for holding us to that standard even when it would have been easier not to.
Ten years ago, we set out to build something for the people who keep assets running, not for the people who only read reports about them. AI has not changed that goal. It has only given us a better way to reach it. iBot lives inside the tools our crews already use, answering questions in the field and surfacing patterns in the office, because we built it in, not bolted it on.
I love to point out that our product is built for, and sold in, the workshop and railyards. I am also proud that we equally benefit the back office all the way to the Boardroom.
We have a great deal of work still ahead of us. But today, I wanted to pause and say thank you, to the customers who believed in us, the partners who built alongside us, and the team that made this possible. This award belongs to all of you.
