0:02
would like to start by thanking everybody that’s joining us on the
0:07
webinar we’re doing our first joint webinar with our partner geotab
0:15
um a little bit about connexed uh we are a mobile based application designed solely
0:23
for mechanics and technicians we focus on making their job easier
0:28
our company has been around for coming upon 10 years now
0:34
um based in Cerritos California but we also have people scattered around the
0:39
country too like myself I’m in North Carolina um we are joined today by Bradley Quinn
0:46
who is the channel engagement manager with geotab uh we are joined
0:54
Byram who is our co-founder and CTO from Connex and myself I’m the director of
1:00
sales with Connex uh what we want to do is is go through a
1:06
relatively brief um presentation where Brad and Prabhu
1:13
will be showing you the the slides and explaining conics and how we interact
1:18
with geotab with that said uh we we’re going to start off with from the thank
1:24
you okay now um from the overall landscape right when
1:31
we give when we take a trekking industry as a whole that is the uh you know landscape that
1:38
we have identified in which geotab you know takes care of certain sections of
1:44
this landscape and then IMR covers uh certain sections and you know uh we we
1:50
have joined our hands together to make the user life better uh having said that
1:56
Brad you want to take this sure thank you uh Prabhu uh thank you
2:02
for allowing me to be here so I’d like to start off talking about geotab the geotab marketplace is part of the geotab
2:09
ecosystem and this ecosystem is made up of integrated telematics related products and services which enable
2:17
geotab users to extend the value of the data in doing so our partners are able to use
2:22
this data to provide better solutions for their customers a few key areas within the marketplace are Fleet Management driver tracking
2:29
telematics Hardware routing and dispatch fuel tracking reporting and asset
2:35
tracking and we’re very fortunate to have connect Skymark as one of our partners in the marketplace to assist
2:40
with several of these areas thank you Brad and I’m Mark as a product
2:46
like Jeff mentioned already it’s a cloud mobile solution and we are hosted out of Microsoft Azure
2:53
and all our apps of native apps and again from the product perspective we
2:58
take care of or we handle maintenance portion of it warehouse management parts
3:04
and inventory and Reporting now when it comes to warehouse management and parts
3:09
and inventory it goes hand in hand reporting we do custom reports for our customers with the devotee reporting and
3:16
all those things whereas when it comes to integration with geotab itself right maintenance fixing where you know we
3:23
will go over the use case in a moment specific use cases that we did with geotab but uh but from the maintenance
3:30
perspective we get all the information of that asset from geotab and then do
3:36
some action actionable telematics but
3:42
thank you so who is geotab well geotab’s a leading provider of telematics in the
3:48
world we have over 47 000 customers we have three and a half million subscribers and we’re in 150 plus
3:55
countries we collect more data than any other telemax provider to the tune of over 55
4:01
billion data points per day plus our data is cleaner and more robust than any
4:06
of our competitors this results in our partners and their customers being able to make better decisions
4:14
geotab is a hub if you will for data we provide end-to-end Fleet Management Solutions by transforming that data into
4:21
AI powered analytics and insights by analyzing the data our partners are able to look
4:26
and give Fleet managers dispatchers and shop for them and a bird’s eye view into their Fleet they can see things such as
4:32
vehicle location estimated time to arrive at the receiver current DT Caesar engine codes for the vehicles the
4:37
closest fuel stop and many others geotab’s platform is easily integrated and provides a user with other tools and
4:44
Marketplace Solutions all at their fingertips so how do we do this
4:51
next slide please geotab uses our go9 and go9 plus devices
4:56
to glean data from all types of vehicles from passenger vehicles and light duty trucks all the way up to Class 8 trucks
5:01
also we gather data from many types of specialty Vehicles such as garbage trucks concrete trucks and others the
5:08
types of data gathered range from vehicle location and speed the engine fault codes or dtc’s there’s also an
5:15
accelerometer in Gyro in the go9 which provides such data harsh driving harsh braking harsh cornering near Miss
5:22
Collision driver hours of service and with the addition of a camera we can also monitor driver behaviors and send
5:28
driver alerts the possibilities are almost endless this data is then transferred to the cloud where our partners such as
5:34
connects Imark download the data to assist fleets in simplifying their maintenance processes
5:42
thank you Brad now connects as a company right our product is called rymark our company is connects we are here since
5:49
2014 a decade’s worth of experience and again like I mentioned earlier it’s a cloud mobile solution and our apps are
5:56
native apps to make the use of life better no on an average you know uh 50 000
6:04
transactions more than 50 000 transactions flows through our product and we have customers everywhere when I
6:11
say everywhere we have customers out of Canada we have customers out of Middle East U.S and uh across customers across
6:17
verticals again like I mentioned more than 50 000 transactions flows through our uh our product per month and
6:26
there’s a product that is also built um to be scalable right in the sense
6:31
where we have won lots of awards uh from our customers
6:36
um with emphasize on user experience and scalability
6:42
now having said that what we do right how Imark can be used now again like I
6:47
mentioned earlier we will go over the use case that we have implemented with geotab but
6:54
I Mark as a product can be configured to digitize everything when I say digitize
7:01
everything your inspections your main tenants uh Parts consumed during
7:06
maintenance task if there is an incident report that needs to be reported from the field or a service request any type
7:14
of Maintenance task that needs to be digitized you can go out and configure our product
7:20
um in a simple terms if there is a sheet of paper that you use today that can be digitized
7:25
not only that it is also flexible right it is configurable in the sense where
7:31
we don’t want to reinvent the field from the payment from the from the forms perspective from
7:38
the processes perspective now whatever forms that you use today you know that would have got approved from devotee and
7:45
you know a Department of Transportation and you would have you know implemented the process in place right we come come
7:51
in and then we configure your processes and your forms in our system and then we digitize not only
7:58
digitize it we also store it in our system so that you can run analytics on top of it reporting and analytics right
8:06
which is a key item like for example you can run reports like hey show me for this specific truck how many times are
8:12
uh when where what was the mileage when the last you know brake pads were
8:17
replaced or how frequently the tires were replaced things like that can be run so the data that we are collecting
8:24
using our mobile app is also stored in the cloud on top of which the analytics
8:30
can be run and you can go live in weeks literally in weeks like four to six weeks we will be able to you know make
8:38
life or make you live the reason is the product is configurable we work with you on
8:43
understanding your phones we implement it and then we let the users to play with it and then on top of it we we go
8:49
ahead and do enough user acceptance testing and the release tab so we can go you can go out and go live in weeks
8:56
and when it comes to Integrations right it’s a seamless integration we follow our open architecture where there are
9:02
set of apis using which we can not only connect with geotab but also connect
9:07
with your existing eam environment like tremble a maximum any eam software out
9:14
there we will be able to connect with your existing em system and end of the
9:19
day we are talking about enriching data that data that you are collecting that your users are collecting from the field
9:26
is enriched is accurate um like for example there is an image
9:31
say a user wants to report on an oil leak right they can take a picture of
9:37
that engine compartment not only just take a picture they can go and write down that picture saying that hey check
9:43
this section of the engine compartment and the oil leak is starting from here right like below the oil filter which is
9:50
a typical place where the engine oil leak starts so again enrich the data
9:55
that is being collected from the field to cut the long story short IMR can be configured for any type of data
10:02
collection from the field especially from the maintenance prospecting now having said that we have we
10:08
emphasize on uh enriching the data quality of data that is collected from the field at the same time make it easy
10:14
for the users which is which is a key aspect we we always you know uh emphasize on in the sense where say
10:22
there is a comment that needs to be entered right using our app what they can do is there is a speech
10:29
text option where when the keyboard comes up they click on a mic the user talks to the app and then the app types
10:36
it for him so there is a speech to text option so that the user doesn’t need to use the keyboard
10:42
like I mentioned earlier photos and annotations right like they can take a photo or select a photo from the album
10:48
not just upload an image they can go and write on top of the image highlighting the issue they can even upload audio
10:55
recordings where it is helpful knocking noise of an engine humming noise
11:00
rattling noise things like that can be uploaded we also have a measure capability using
11:05
lidar technology where you know if you want to measure the distance between point a and point B you can go ahead and
11:10
use our app our IOS app for that and we also do mapping and routing right in the sense where
11:16
the data that we are collecting from geotab not only the mileage and other
11:21
information that we collect we also get the latitude and longitude based on that we can put the pins in the map view and
11:28
show the tasks based on a geographical uh you know representation right so we
11:33
can do that like I mentioned in earlier we can customize your forms we can configure your firm’s assets we can add
11:41
validations mileage field only numbers can be entered uh if there is a field
11:46
that needs validation which is required mandatory we can just configure our solution to go ahead and you know make
11:53
those uh you know requirements or the fields mandatory just by a configuration
11:58
and our solution is role based now if there is a user who’s who’s a mechanic
12:03
who does the job he’ll see like create update and change right or create update
12:09
and view whereas if he he or she is a supervisor they’ll see approval also so there is a manageable there is a
12:15
supervisor room there is a you know maintenance uh mechanical so it’s role
12:20
based the product is role based and it can be configured on top of it we can also generate PDF
12:26
reports in your own format when we say your own format devotee specific formats we can go ahead
12:32
and generate out of our product so that once inspection is done say a service or a B service or a c service you can take
12:39
a printout which is exactly in the format that you wanted that you can present it to a auditor devotee auditor
12:45
right so again we do all this to make the life of the user easier not only
12:52
that that data that is getting collected from the field is accurate enough for the backend system to consume
12:59
having said that let me go to the next slide now when it comes to Imark and jio tag
13:06
together we we actually the end result is actionable telematics when I say
13:12
actionable telematics the use cases that we are talking here as of course that is the cmms integration
13:18
we can always do eam integration but on top of it we can grab the mileage of that specific
13:25
asset from jio tabs layer and then Auto create work orders for you like PM
13:31
workouters every 20K create a service or a B service or a c service work order
13:36
and it gets assigned to a user so that their inspection is done on time so that the supervisor or the manager or the
13:44
mechanic right they don’t need to remember things uh on on when an inspection needs to be done we take care
13:50
of those Automation and we go ahead and create and work order based on the data we get from geotab
13:57
not only that we can also create repair adders right um which is say you know
14:02
geotab is capable of giving us the the engine light if it is on and the
14:08
description of that fault itself right so based on that we can go ahead and create repair orders and if if the we
14:16
can generate we can configure the system in such a way that if the issue is so big you know this weekend red flag as
14:22
specific asset right so things like that can be done and the next use case that I want to emphasize on is basically you know dbar
14:30
we do dvir integration with geotab where when I when a dvar is done in Geo Tab
14:36
and if there are issues that are recorded in dvar we go ahead and grab it right and then present it to a user so
14:43
that it gets fixed and once it gets fixed we go back and update geotype
14:49
saying that hey there was a there was an issue recorded in this dvar and now it is fixed and here is the associated
14:56
details of it right it could be pictures and commands right so we can go ahead and do that too on top of it they can
15:02
also you know take a printout of that work order from our system or from geotab so there is a closed loop
15:07
integration that we do where uh issue is reported in rever and we grab it
15:13
maintain it go back and update jio tab with appropriate statuses now last but
15:19
not the least we basically track the asset right when you see tracked asset like I mentioned earlier right
15:26
um like I mentioned earlier we can go ahead and use the latitude and longitude of that specific
15:33
asset and then you know located in a map and show hey that the truck is right
15:39
here at this location they have reported an issue where you know the the Tires
15:45
Plus so you have to go to this location right so you can send a dispatch team to fix the tissue So based on geotax
15:51
latitude and longitude we are able to locate the exact location of that asset at any given point of time on a
15:57
real-time basis so overall use cases are we can Auto create PM recorders
16:03
automate the repair orders dbar based maintenance we can do on top of it we
16:08
can track the asset and then show the tasks geographically
16:13
now end of the day um Brad I would like you to jump in on this the the the the most expensive
16:19
commodity is right time now once you lose this one second you cannot get it
16:25
back you can spend millions of dollars you cannot get the time back but Brad is going to add some pointers to it but
16:33
so this is awesome right we’ve figured out how to automate the whole
16:38
maintenance stream feed it back into my geotab so that everybody has the information
16:43
they need in real time why does this make sense well as people mentioned time is money right when we
16:50
can save time we save money these streamline processes reduce the time required to complete the work
16:57
this time reduction results in a cost savings for the company now we all know that there are still
17:02
organizations who do their maintenance on paper right and you hear phrases like I’m old school why do we need this
17:09
um we hear this quite often but these automated systems save time and money
17:14
but they also ensure that the people who need the information get that information as quick as possible again
17:19
saving time for the organization results in cost savings so as we look at this whole package what
17:26
we’re saying boils down to this reduce time results in increased drive time
17:31
increased drive time equals more miles driven for the driver which means more money in the driver’s Pockets right
17:37
they’re happy increased drive time also equals more load capacity increase load capacity
17:44
results in increased Revenue so now the company’s happening so in short I Mark
17:49
plus geotab is more money for everyone and that makes sense
17:56
thank you Brad now how does the how does the
18:01
integration work or where we fit in right now we sit in the middle we talk to
18:06
geotab and then we store it in the cloud do the necessary you know actionable uh
18:13
steps by creating work orders and you know repair orders and DVR based orders
18:18
so that the maintenance can be done which can be accessed by the field crew
18:23
and not only that your Executives and managers can use imark’s website if it has to go through an approval
18:30
process if the devotee reporting needs to be done work order code and created it has to be assigned to a specific
18:36
technician that can be done by the executives or the managers or the supervisors from using our website and
18:43
not only that we can connect integrate with other external systems like if we
18:48
want to push this PM work orders information into your eam system we can
18:53
do that out of the box we connect with Trimble Maximo trapeze there is list of EMS we connect with so we can go ahead
18:59
and integrate with other applications of your choice now having said that
19:05
that’s a bird’s eye view or a sample of uh how the product will look like or a
19:12
product looks like in the sense where as soon as the user logs in they are going to see this home screen and like I
19:19
mentioned earlier based on the role the user is performing these modules and transactions gets loaded now in this
19:26
case the my work you will have all the tasks that are created based on the signal
19:33
from geotab and then when the user clicks on the my work you it goes to a list screen where see for example there
19:40
is a c inspection that needs to be done for this specific mileage for that specific truck right so like that we can
19:46
go out and auto create work orders now for some reason if the user wants to know the real-time data of that specific
19:52
asset they can click on this icon which loads uh which loads a pop-up which
19:58
shows the additional information of that specific asset now out of the box we bring in latitude longitude engine light
20:05
fuel levels and things like that whereas during the implementation time if you want to see more data we can go ahead
20:11
and configure the system accordingly not only that from this view itself you will
20:17
be able to locate that asset by clicking on this map or get to the geotab app
20:22
itself right from here so there will be a seamless transfer between geotab app and our own app because geotab app
20:30
provides even more information when it comes to trips and all those things right so you can click on app and go to
20:35
the geotab app or click on the web and go to the geotag web so there is a seamless integration between apps not
20:41
only that the key value addition is we can Auto create tasks based on the
20:47
information that we are getting from jio tab on top of it based on the latitude
20:53
and longitude like I mentioned earlier we can go ahead and show a map view right something like this so if you
20:59
notice in this screen there is this list view which is this one whereas there is this map view right that is nothing but
21:06
this map view where you know if say for example my current location is somewhere here it will clearly show these are all
21:12
the tasks that you need to perform as a user um and the number that you see there or
21:17
the number of tasks that needs to be performed and when you click on that specific number there it comes with a
21:23
pop-up using get directions you can get to that location and then do the necessary task that is required now this
21:29
is enabled based on the latitude and longitude that we grab from geotab going back to the use cases itself Auto
21:36
creating PM work order Auto creating repair work orders dvar based maintenance and also on top of it track
21:43
the asset based on the latitude and longitude this is again out of the box all these use cases are available now
21:49
during the implementation time if a customer needs a specific use case we can go ahead and configure the system
21:54
um accordingly hope that covers at least from the integration and use case perspective now
22:00
when it comes to deployment itself right again like we mentioned earlier you can deploy you can go live in four weeks in
22:08
a typical uh straightforward scenario where we get your forms processes we configure it customizations will be done
22:16
related to PDF reports and all those things integration configurations will be done which is integration with the
22:22
geotab in fact within two weeks your users can start playing with our app
22:28
with the forms and all those things and within four weeks four to six weeks uh in all practical purposes we can make
22:34
you live so it’s a configurable solution that can be rolled out in weeks
22:41
Jeff awesome awesome thank you Prabhu and
22:47
Bradley that was that was really really great uh at this time we would like to open up the floor for any questions that
22:55
anybody may have
23:01
um one question that we’ve had come in is uh how easy is it is the application
23:06
for older mechanics and how easy is it for mechanics and technicians to use on
23:13
uh on tablets on the shop floor review okay so
23:19
um with with our current and again our apps are native apps um it is pretty straightforward our record is
23:27
um with our other customers there will be 90 adoption 95 adoption as soon as we
23:33
start implementing the app it is that easy it is self-explanatory and also you
23:39
work with your own forms and processes see that’s the key there see as of today if you have a sheet of paper and you say
23:45
hey check breaks and then if it has some instructions to it we will be able to configure those wordings exactly to
23:52
match so that the user can understand it and also attach work instructions along with it and also when it comes to data
23:58
entry like I mentioned earlier they don’t need to use the keyboard all the time they can go out and talk to the app
24:04
you know enter the comments or when it comes to mileage they put the cursor on the text field only numeric keyboard
24:10
shows up so things like that are inbuilt into application makes the life of the
24:15
user uh you know easier and our apps are native apps so that you know the user
24:21
experience will be far far better when it comes to uploading images and audio files
24:26
Jeff awesome okay so we also have a question that says how will we get the data from the
24:33
trucks to the geotab app is there an integration
24:39
um uh Brad you want to take it up sure so we have the go9 and go now plus devices which I’ve mentioned previous
24:46
those are installed in the truck they capture all the data that data then
24:51
gets uploaded to the cloud where it’s actually captured by connects
24:57
and then there you take that data into the integration and use that data to
25:03
do their maintenance uh into their application
25:09
awesome um also uh the question there’s a question can you provide real real life
25:18
examples of how how this is being used uh one one real life use case that I can
25:25
tell us which I touched upon that earlier we go ahead and auto create PM workouters
25:31
every 20K of that truck say for example they are at a 40K right right now and
25:38
when it hits 60k since we are you know tracking the mileage of that specific
25:43
truck once it is once it crosses the 60k we go ahead and create a PM work order
25:49
but from the systems perspective we will know what was the previous service that
25:55
was done whether it is a a b or c this specific customer does a b and c so you say if they have done a b service we
26:02
will automatically create a work order for a c service and then assign that
26:07
appropriate form to that work order when I say form the data points that they need to check right now in some cases
26:15
again this is again for one of our other customer where it can be mileage based forms also so again for customer a it is
26:23
like for ABC they use the same form which is again approved by dot whereas
26:28
for one other customer Los Angeles metro they have mileage based uh inspection forms like based on the mileage you know
26:35
the number of checkpoints that they do is will will increase right so we got an
26:42
auto create those work orders assign those uh you know inspection forms automatically and assign it to a
26:49
specific group of users so that we do today with one of our customers and then as part of phase two we are also working
26:55
on creating a maintenance work order based on the engine light and you know that failure description so those are
27:03
all the real life use cases and we are also in process of implementing the dvar
27:08
based work order so the use cases that I mentioned earlier we are we have already implemented with our some of our
27:15
customers Jeff thank you um also the there’s a question that came in um is there an
27:21
optimal Fleet size and uh I can answer that so typically Fleet sizes range from
27:27
anywhere from 50 to thousands of assets um the the product I Mark is very
27:34
scalable so it can start small and as as the company grows or as your Fleet grows
27:39
assets grow we can scale along to that uh we are our bolt on on uh on the
27:46
geotab um Solutions so it works seamlessly and
27:52
very well with the uh the geotab
27:58
um I’m sorry so uh
28:04
well this integrate with our back end eam or cmms
28:10
Prabhu yep it’s a big yes uh to that question so like I mentioned earlier
28:16
um we have an open architecture where we have a set of open apis using which you
28:22
can connect if you want us to or we can work with your eam systems middleware
28:27
and then you know um integrate accordingly in the sense say if there is a work order that gets created in your
28:33
eam system it can it can be posted using our apis and we can go back and update
28:39
that work order using the standard apis that comes with the am itself so yes we can integrate with your uh existing
28:46
environment it could be an eam it could be a standard em like trapeze or maximum
28:53
or uh or Trimble or EMS like those or if it is a homegrown system as long as
28:59
there is an API available we can go ahead and integrate with it or if you want us to create an API to connect with
29:05
your homegrown system um database waste homegrown system we can do that too
29:12
thank you there’s also a question came in are there predictive maintenance Analytics
29:18
available yes in fact to elaborate on this
29:23
specific point uh Jeff you know note down from whom that question has come in
29:30
we can go out and have a you know session with them to show the reporting and analytics that we do extensive
29:36
reporting and analytics that we do so the answer is yes awesome
29:41
so um it’s 2 30 Eastern um I don’t want to run over our time
29:47

29:53
there’s a couple more questions in the in the queue what we will do is is we’ll get back to everybody and answer everybody’s question
30:00

30:05
live demo or configured demo then please reach out to me um at your convenience and we can set up
30:12
a time to do a demo um uh Prabhu do you have any other thoughts

30:55
affect our I.T department and this is an extremely important question so I do want to address that very quickly
31:02
um we’ve had we’ve worked from from I with ID I.T departments with one person up to a huge ID I.T Department
31:11
one of the uh requirements for one of our initial customers was that they do
31:16
have a small I.T department and they can they said they cannot afford for that person to be spread out in in a lot of
31:23
time on this project at the end of the project that person has told me repeatedly that it took them four to six
31:31
hours of our time total um and the deployment takes generally four to six weeks
31:37
um and and so four to six hours total of her time that that she had to involve basically for opening apis answering a
31:44
few questions and things like that so I did want to address that that as well um again if there’s any other questions
