0:02
to today’s session that this is kinixter’s uh customer Roundtable series and we are joined by Mid-South
0:09
transports team uh I’d like to just uh do a quick introduction um and some housekeeping first so my
0:15
name is Nicole Sterling and I will be your facilitator for today um so if you’ve got any questions please feel free to Ping those through to me
0:22
um and I will pass them along with our guest speakers for today we will have a q a Time dedicated at the end of the
0:28
session but you’re welcome to just pop those questions in throughout as we go uh today’s webinar is being recorded and
0:35
we will send attendees a link to that recording over the next couple of days once we’ve done a quick quality assurance check just keep an eye on your
0:41
inbox for that one um and uh today’s webinar I will let you know is being hosted uh by connect
0:50
um it’s a little bit about us uh connects is the easiest way to digitize and automate your paperwork process
0:56
reporting and compliance and I will let the team go into a little more detail about who and what we are and the
1:02
specifics later on then I’d also like to introduce you to our guest speaker for today
1:09
um we are joined and we’re super excited to be joined uh by the team from Mid-South transport who are going to
1:14
share how they digitize maintenance and booster deficiency by 20 so a little bit
1:19
about Mid-South transport in case you didn’t know the business was established in Memphis Tennessee in 1982 at their
1:26
Fleet consists of over 100 power units that travel throughout the Mid-South Southeast Northeast Midwest and
1:34
California and then our guest speakers for today uh we have on the line uh Kent long who’s
1:39
the chief operating officer Lindsay Wright who looks after I.T of the IT director and Cody Albright who’s a
1:46
maintenance Supervisor over at Mid-South transport but before we commence um I’m actually going to hand over to Prabhu he
1:53
is and CTO connects and is going to share a quick overview of the implementation so let me uh stop sharing
2:00
so you can share screen
2:10
can you see my screen Nicole okay
2:15
awesome we can or if you want to just do full
2:20
view would be amazing yes yes I will do that so the overall implementation timeline
2:27
was four weeks in week one we did a quick Discovery we went over
2:34
the forms that needs to be configured along with processes that needs to be implemented and in week two we went
2:41
ahead and started the configuration in parallel we set up the users roles and the transactions associated with those
2:48
users and in week three we released the app for testing initially we did a quick
2:53
testing with the IIT itself and then we brought in the business users and then did a uat in parallel we also did the
3:01
trading a quick training session and we also recorded training videos and then shared it to the user by end of week
3:07
four we went live after we went live there were some subsequent changes that got implemented
3:14
related to telematics integration which we will cover a little later when it comes to the connect as a
3:21
solution itself we are a cloud mobile solution where we are hosted out of Microsoft
3:27
Azure Cloud where all our objects resides and when it comes to field Crews
3:33
they use our mobile app we support both IOS and Android smartphones and tablets
3:39
and our apps are native apps in fact when the users are using they use speech to text images or annotation which which
3:48
helps them to enrich the data now when it comes to the back end portion of it right we we connect with a lot of CM
3:55
over systems and EM systems out there out of the box but in case of MSD the use of a website
4:00
to go over failed failed items the transactions PDF reports and things like that
4:06
now when it comes to the exact process flow itself that we that got implemented
4:12
at MST we did we are doing ABC service inspections like using our mobile app
4:20
the crew can go ahead and create a inspection uh transaction using our
4:27
mobile app we also allow them to create repair orders for their maintenance tasks that they are doing all this
4:33
information is stored in our cloud and the back office folks managers coding can go ahead and access the data from
4:40
our web and then follow up on failed items also they can create PDF reports
4:46
in their own format in devotee format where the PDFs can be printed out and then they can put on the truck
4:52
trailer so that it can use for auditing purposes the next process that we
4:58
implemented was integration with telematics this was an awesome process that we implemented and in fact you know thanks
5:04
to MST team they helped us a lot through the process where we collect the asset
5:11
data from go motif of course we have a framework where we can talk to um you
5:16
know other ELD devices ELD device platforms out of the box we talked to samsara geotab and go motive so we
5:24
collect the data from go motive in fact in phase one we are collecting the
5:30
mileage data and then once we get the mileage every 20K we go over an auto
5:35
create PM workout as for MST when we say Auto create PM work orders we take the last mileage when the
5:42
inspection was done and what type of inspection was done whether it is a b or c and then create the subsequent PM work
5:48
order like if they have done uh you know a b service at 22k the next 42k when it
5:56
hits we will do a c service payment card or so we dynamically calculated those
6:01
mileages and then Auto create work orders which shows up in the work you for the users for the mechanics they do
6:08
the subsequent service and then that gets stored in the cloud of course when there are failed items or when there are
6:13
items that needs to be fixed the maintenance crew follows on follows up the failed items and then does the
6:19
update so this whole process right creation of PM marketers is automated for MST through ELD integration so that
6:26
you know accordion team doesn’t need to keep track of mileage we go and keep
6:31
track of mileage and go ahead and create the work orders for them so overall again timeline wise it was a
6:40
four weeks implementation for the initial process and then after uh you know a couple weeks we we spent time on
6:46
cleaning up this telemarket integration process and then we went live
6:51
now that is a screen sample um of our app itself that’s a creation
6:56
screen where users can use barcode scanning users can select the values
7:02
from a list of assets or list of Master and then they can upload pictures with
7:07
annotation on top of it and they can also enter additional comments for for
7:13
pass fail items where speech to text can be used so we we have automated this
7:19
whole section and also when it when it gets stored like I mentioned earlier we create PDF reports in mst’s own format
7:27
which can be used for geot purposes now that’s a lookup of the go motive itself
7:32
we not only get mileage we also get the current location of the uh truck and trailer we also get
7:40
additional informations other than uh the the engine light and fuel Usage Now
7:46
when it comes to engine light if that is a fault code we also show the you know fault code description and in
7:53
future we may land up creating uh repair work orders which is not implemented yet but we are planning to you know create a
8:00
repair work order based on engine fault conditions maybe that will be phase two
8:05
I hope that at least you know gave an idea of the the implementation that we
8:11
did for MST Nico wonderful that was amazing so thank you
8:18
very much for that walkthrough um we’re going to move into the panel discussion part of today so I have a
8:25
whole lot of questions for our guest speakers um so Kent Lindsay Cody uh welcome officially to the stage uh no pressure
8:33
they’re a little nervous it’s been a while um but we are very excited to have you here uh so I will get kicked off into
8:39
the questions if I don’t ask something um please as our attendees please pop it
8:45
into the chat I put a little message in there so you can find where that is very easily but we would love to hear from
8:51
you and we can then pass those along to the team so first question off the uh off the bat
8:57
um this is a really Innovative program that you’ve actually kicked off and super super impressive guys so well done
9:05
um what I’d love to understand is what were your objectives for getting started with this particular initiative
9:13
the main thing I was looking for when we started this program we needed a little more organization we you know as most
9:18
shops everything’s paper you got carbon copies you’re doing your services you
9:24
got to keep your records we needed something that kept us more organized and
9:29
and just streamline the process in the back and we needed something that our shop guys could use you know Hands-On
9:36
and it uh actually didn’t slow them down but actually helped them in the process so as we started going through and
9:41
looking at different opportunities this one it had everything we needed plus more and it also was very simple we
9:49
could start the guys off in the shop just simple steps and and you know we’d start off with Traders or then we
9:55
started off with adding the trucks and services and as we get more and more it
10:00
was just an ease into it and it was really no bumps at all you know they
10:05
they grew at their own pace which is actually surprised me it’s very quick how they they all took to it Cody so
10:13
that’s about it you know just keeping up with what we have you know like Kent stated as far as services and paper
10:18
copies um it makes it a lot more organized a lot easier to keep up with the guys took on to it like they’ve been
10:26
using it for years um very simple if we did have anything will need to help on the guys in
10:32
contacts they was quick fast and unheard of you know to get her questions asked you know to get us back where we need to
10:37
be one of the one thing that came along with it that
10:42
we weren’t expecting but it was great is how it’s all stored in the cloud and we we started doing the trailer services on
10:49
our Trader inspection so we found that you know drivers have a tendency to lose those or they come out of the box and if
10:55
they ever needed a copy of the inspection certificate we’re in there on the road they got stopped in a scale
11:00
house we can just email it to them immediately and they got a copy of it so that has been a great added bonus that
11:07
we didn’t even think about at the very beginning but that has helped us a lot
11:12
awesome well I think you kind of answered my next question a little bit but I’ll ask it anyway
11:18
um so what made you choose the next um Why Us it really was it was just very a simple
11:27
process I mean when we got to looking at it and we showed the showed the guys one thing or here
11:32
we showed them a copy of you know like just the basic inspection reports or whatever and they’re like yep we can do
11:37
that we can load that right in and they showed us an example of what basically looked like our inspection report sheet
11:44
on their screen with drop down boxes and it was just simple I mean it made it a very easy
11:50
decision for us we’re like our guys know what that is they know what they look like and they don’t have to go learn a
11:56
complete different you know some what something looks like so they knew exactly how to use it it
12:01
was just on a tablet instead of a piece of paper it was great
12:07
um and so I guess that answers my next question too of did you achieve your objectives
12:12
oh yeah we achieved the objectives and then some um it all went so smooth it was funny
12:18
funny story when we’re sitting there talking when satasha and the guys were here and we were talking when they were
12:24
first rolling it out to us they heard me talking about a problem I was having with our warehouse management system and
12:30
it had nothing to do with what we were talking about and so testing over to me later he goes you know we could make one
12:37
of those for you too and I laughed and I said let’s just wait and see how this one goes and and we’ll we’ll talk later
12:44
fast forward uh they rolled out yesterday we went through the first test of the warehouse management system of
12:50
their buildings were ground up for so that’s how that’s how well it went and smooth the whole maintenance system went
12:57
well I’m letting us letting them build a warehouse management system for us and they’re about complete with it so this
13:02
has been fantastic partnership fabulous um and so I guess let’s let’s
13:07
dive a little more into those results then what what results have you been seeing as a result of the maybe less so
13:13
about yesterday’s implementation and more so what’s been in the works for a little while now
13:19
the results that we’ve seen is the ease of use once again for the for the mechanics and I like how everything’s
13:26
stored we can also run reports off of it so when Cody and I are looking at issues and I’ll go hey Cody you know when we
13:33
talked about the day bumpers how many bumpers have we replaced in the last whatever you know we’re looking at do we
13:38
want to put bumper guards on there so how much do we spend how much will be replaced on bumpers in the last hour much he could pull it up real quick and
13:45
tell me okay we replace 15 bumpers you know because we’re killing every deer in
13:50
the South I believe so you know as we have to replace these bumpers we’re like okay is it worth being able to should we
13:57
put bumper cars so it gives me tools to make decisions with not just on the
14:03
maintenance side but on what I get to the okay what kind of uh products I need
14:08
to order what maintenance do I need to do so it’s giving me some some viable you know tools and numbers to put to uh
14:15
some decisions I need to make awesome um so what has the cruise feedback been
14:22
on on the solution what do they think about it so as far as you know the
14:29
um the work order system the guys they love it um for me it helps out because I can get
14:35
a better description you know what was performed versus them writing it out you know a paragraph on uh on a piece of
14:41
paper you know on a work order form um it’s greasy and whatnot it may have oil on it I can’t have read the
14:47
description uh the talk to text that is probably their favorite now you push a little button in the
14:53
description you spill it out of what you’ve done and that’s it you know it’s ready to go they
14:58
I mean they tend to like it a lot um like I said not only does it help them um it helps me as well if I need to
15:05
see uh repair order history I’m not digging through you know a bunch of files on a file
15:10
cabinet you know I can I can type in a unit number and it pulls it up immediately um and it shows every repair order we’ve
15:15
done um you know if we have a repeat um you know say issue on a trailer I can
15:21
go by and say you know we’ve had four work orders for the same thing you know maybe we need to look at another component I mean it helps it helps the
15:28
whole the whole maintenance department out extremely just being you know being on the tablet as well
15:35
yeah that is that’s a good point there that’s something that helps us a lot we keep newer model trucks we run all
15:41
Freightliners so if we keep seeing a failure in a specific area we can pull up by part and see okay how many
15:48
alternators are filled or whatever and we can go back to our dealer and say okay we’re seeing issues here here’s how
15:53
many work orders we’ve had on these in the last you know six weeks so it’s given us a lot of tools to use to go
16:00
back with our other partners Freightliner and say okay what are y’all seeing here so
16:06
fantastic um so we’re passionate a little bit let’s talk about data accuracy for a
16:13
moment because that’s one of the key aspects um can you give me a couple of examples uh of the data accuracy that you’re
16:20
seeing at the moment one one of my one of the big things that
16:25
was a go for me is um we do we do a service every 20 000 miles on the truck
16:30
the drivers are not the best as you know bringing in when the service is due
16:36
um and then it automatically generates a repair order when the service is due that is that was a big thing for me you
16:42
know making sure the equipment is serviced on time um you know inspections are done dots
16:48
when you go when you go into the app and you open it up and show you how you this this stroke here is due for an oil
16:54
change or you know a DOT inspection then uh it automatically generates a repairable where that was a that was a
17:00
big a big thing for me that that helps out very well yeah
17:06
brilliant um so obviously this is a pretty big project an important one
17:12
um what uh what do you see are some of the key factors for success in getting this up and running what made it work so
17:19
well as far as on my annual Lindsey she handled a lot of the I.T Department
17:27
um you know we would have uh meetings you know if Hayden this is how this would operate uh we can set this up as
17:32
far as adding trucks or adding trailers um the team there they’re great
17:38
um I actually had I had some trucks removed that we no longer have and get some new trucks added in everything’s
17:43
just working smooth uh my communication that’s a that’s a big thing on my end because when I need something that only need it kind of fast you know they tend
17:51
to get right on it you know it helps me out a lot as well as everybody else because because then I may be hounded
17:57
Kent you know or Kent’s hounding me or you know what which not but the team the team hooked out very well you know for
18:03
support brilliant um and then another little question here
18:10
so you are obviously live with this solution um we talked about warehousing going live yesterday
18:16
um but what’s next and feel free to delve into warehousing if you like well I mean I’m looking forward to the
18:23
warehousing we did phase one test which was great we have two warehouses that’s got different components to it so we’re
18:29
starting one out on the simpler one but just you know I’m I’m looking at is that if it’s as easy
18:36
steps or even anywhere close to the easy steps is the maintenance was it’s going
18:42
to be great um when you have a group of mechanics and I’ll walk to the back that all love
18:48
the new product at all nobody complains about the change I think that right there spoke a lot about it I walked back
18:54
there the second or third day when they were implementing they all had the iPads out of them they’re just like this is
18:59
fantastic this is why and we’ve done this a long time ago um and that’s the guys out there working
19:05
it they they love it because it’s it’s very clear it shows them what they need to do and if they got their job
19:10
assignment there’s so many features on it that we haven’t used you can I mean we haven’t you know put where we keep
19:16
people’s time up you can track time on the jobs you can trip time for the you know we don’t pay our guys like that so
19:23
we haven’t used that but I mean there’s all kinds of great features in it if we wanted to implement we could and that’s
19:29
kind of what we’re seeing with the with the warehouse when there’s going to be some it’s going to be our needs that we
19:34
ask for and then there’s hey by the way while we were building it we went in put this in there you may need it down the
19:40
road so that’s that’s what’s really cool about it there’s a things that Cody and I were looking at the other day maybe
19:46
some I want to get maybe something with our inventory so get some inventory Parts
19:51
involved and start looking at that along with the maintenance fee so that would be the next big step I would say
19:58
for me it would be inventory going into the system as well right
20:04
um well let’s talk a little bit about it in that case so tell me a little bit about some of the back end systems
20:11
um that are connected here go ahead we use motive for our trucks
20:20
um GPS and logging system and then we have trimble’s TMS system as400
20:27
and they work very well together it pulls information out of as400 into
20:34
motive and then our system here can pull information out
20:39
of the motive and put it into any kind of form that we’ve asked for
20:46
right um and then how critical was your telematics integration to this process
20:53
oh very very much so we
20:58
hadn’t come straight out of motive and out of as400 yeah that’s one of those things if we
21:04
didn’t have that I don’t think it would be successful you gotta I mean because it feeds straight through I think Purdue did a good job of explaining it over I
21:11
mean they’re seeing it on their tablets exactly what’s coming off the ECM of the truck it’s got their
21:18
mileage it’s got VIN numbers it’s got location it’s all that that will they
21:23
need so when it pops up the day of services do you guys can look down say okay they’re you know 20 miles out
21:31
headed in this way or let trucks on the yard and they they know they can go get it and handle the service or we know to
21:36
let dispatch know hey the guy’s on his way in send them back here for service or he’s gone to California we can just
21:42
put it on hold we’ll catch him when he comes back in let them know not to let that truck go back out until it’s done so that kind of is so important versus
21:50
the the old school way of you know stickers and windows of mileages and guys missing it so the telematics being
21:58
able to tie into that is what makes what you’re asking earlier the details and the specifics of it work without that
22:05
you don’t get I don’t think you’re true bang for your buck so with that in there it really
22:11
adds to how how Technical and how accurate it is
22:17
really the accuracy of everything right um so let’s talk time for a little
22:23
moment um how much of it’s time did this project consume
22:29
very very little it was incredible um they had right from the start and idea of what we
22:37
needed I sent them the forms that we use he put it all together um
22:42
in a matter of a few hours I believe I don’t even think it took a full day for
22:49
him to come back and say look we’ve done it it was incredible everything moved so
22:54
fast and it I think overall took two months to get up and going in live yeah and
23:03
that and we’re talking that’s from originally talking to the sales at the front end of it right
23:09
it’s gonna be my next question then so how long did it take and I guess if you can break it down into stages what did
23:15
that look like yeah I think from when we actually said go and started signing contracts it was maybe three or four
23:21
weeks from when we said okay let’s build to when we were actually out there you know playing with it with you know shot
23:28
guys and entering stuff it and a lot of it was just okay us getting what forms
23:34
we needed and getting then the correct information of okay here’s what we want to look like and it kind of went so fast
23:39
we’re like oh wait a minute I got to think this one through what do we want it to look like how you know this is what it is now
23:46
well how do we want to look on the other end you know we can make some improvements but it was it was moving
23:51
pretty quick and the biggest thing we did with it we just had meetings and just kind of give them some direction
23:56
you know even on the back end with our when they talk to motive they’re like oh we got a relationship with them we’re
24:02
like oh that’s great and all we did was just give them permission to talk and give them our information and that was
24:07
really it on the back end with the telematics Ellis um and I guess also from an I.T
24:15
standpoint then what did you think of implementation and integration process how did you find it
24:24
very very simple it was very easy it was all set up ready to go all we had to do
24:30
was answer ing here and there and yes or no we liked this if we had an
24:36
idea it was we sent an email or gave them a call and it was answered as
24:42
quickly as we sent it yeah compared to some other compared to
24:47
other implementations we’ve done recently we changed Imaging systems and a few others and all I heard is why
24:53
couldn’t this be as easy as the Conex I was like so that that was a miserable one but
24:58
yeah it it really was simple I mean we we didn’t have to do it
25:03
yes I think that’s fantastic feedback for us Let’s uh so you’ve got a current
25:10
back-end system that’s a little bit of an older system um does this uh implementation add value
25:15
to that system yeah there’s because of the way the as400 is designed and
25:21
PMW for people that are online no I mean it’s old it’s you know it’s
25:29
it doesn’t break you know it just does its own thing but you don’t have many things that you can quote bolt onto it
25:35
as far as other programs because the way we use motive and to keep trucking it allowed us to use a system that we
25:43
probably could not have tied into the as400 not not real simple so that that
25:48
was kind of really neat here because it’s not easy like we’ve learned doing Imaging systems it’s not easy attaching
25:55
anything today is 400 and this was very simple by way of you know the telematics
26:00
and the piece it got that information kind of flowed right through to it it was it was nice
26:06
right um and obviously now you are live so you’ve potentially been speaking with
26:11
support as well so just curious as to what your experience has been like with the support team
26:18
anytime I’ll have a question most of the time we’re on you know we’re on the run back to the shop asks you to email over
26:25
um normally within minutes I have a phone call if I haven’t responded um you know so you manage everything’s
26:31
ongoing uh this is what you needed like I mentioned earlier the trunks that we are traded in
26:37
um they no longer need to be in our system but without new units that have arrived and they need them you know put in the system as far as the work orders
26:44
and everything of that nature and I’d send an email over and it was within minutes
26:49
um I had an email back saying hey these are removed and these are added um it takes a lot of stress off me you
26:55
know I don’t have to worry about trying to figure out how to add or remove this you know send them an email maybe they
27:00
get it taken care of yeah and even at the very beginning when when they were rolling it out we would just make little tweaks and go can you
27:07
change this or can you move this right this box and those were simple changes that they simple they were simple for
27:13
Conex but it was huge for us it just moved something to a different area for and it was great so that all those were
27:20
very simple and very uh very needed on our part I know simple for them but it was great to be able to
27:27
just ask and they were done yes um so I’ve got another question here for
27:33
you and then we’ll open it up to our audience for some q a time so if you’ve got questions please pop them in the chat I have had a couple come through
27:40
um so my final question for the moment so there was a reference earlier on um to enriching data that goes into the
27:47
backend system can you talk to that a little bit
27:53
uh are you talking about the data that goes back into well I would say
28:00
the accuracy that comes in because we’re using the ecms and then we’re able to
28:06
keep the when you start out acreage you can end up accurate when that was kind of our
28:12
problem we weren’t ever starting out accurate on the front end so when it comes in you know exactly when you’re
28:17
you’re service courses were done you know exactly when they’re due you so it’s you know though it goes back to the
28:23
old garbage and garbage out when you’re starting out with good data it’s easy to maintain the good data and it kind of
28:29
continues to flow that way so that I think that was the big thing it wasn’t really the banking it was we were
28:34
getting it actually right on the front end which continued to you know give us accurate data throughout the process now
28:40
we don’t have to go back and try to clean up uh and go back and look at old service reports whether it’s trucks or
28:46
trailers once we entered it incorrectly it’s like you stay correct going forward
28:51
you know like Kenneth stated as far as the data that comes in you know if you was to ride down there in the incorrect
28:56
mileage or anything of that nature you don’t want to own a paper log the mileage you know maybe off come next Service uh Once you pull that unit up in
29:04
the system it automatically generates everything for you uh you’re not having the money to put in mileage
29:10
um truck number make model VIN number all that automatically generates and then that’s a that’s another big thing
29:17
is that we know that homologous correct so therefore red goes back to Kent you know you come in accurate you leave accurate
29:23
um so that’s a that’s a big thing there and it makes all of our formal inspection reports and everything that
29:28
we have to do for DOT and all that they’re accurate now you know you don’t have anything that’s that’s off
29:34
and the record keeping is great over the years we have we have for so many years
29:41
all right there all in one place you can’t lose it doesn’t disappear it’s all in one spot yeah so if you get
29:49
audited you can just go pull a truck trailer and just print out everything that’s done with it and everything that all the service has been done all the
29:55
inspections have been done correctly and on time awesome all right thank you for
30:02
answering my million questions um we’ve got a little bit of time now for Q a and questions from our guests
30:09
um so please pop those into the chat if you haven’t already I will kick us off um here I’ve got one from George so
30:16
you’re a mid to large sized company uh do you see this as applicable to smaller
30:23
organizations as well we’re a little bit tinier than you probably will help you more because you
30:30
know if you don’t have a big system or you don’t have anything that’s keeping up with your information this is
30:35
something that’ll get you organized real quick and it’s not real expensive to do it gets you organized keep you organized
30:41
especially with your filing and your logs and like Lindsay just said everything’s there if you ever do get
30:47
audited or you ever do get you know inspections done you can pull your reports it’s a click of a button you
30:53
know whether it’s trucks or Traders I I think it will probably you know you’re like us I don’t have the budget for a
31:00
full-time you know person just to do that but now you don’t need it because I can go in and any reports we need or any
31:07
tons of files you need for inspection you can just go pull them up immediately
31:13
right um and then Drew has a question here so
31:19
it’s more around your end users because obviously this is a bit of a change for them moving from paper to digital
31:27
um so just wondering how did the end users take to the product
31:32
it was great so the form that we originally used as far as the dot form and our service inspection forms they
31:39
had took a paper form out of that and um and they had put it into the into the
31:44
app so the formula is exactly the same as we was using before
31:50
um you know the parts description part number quantity of part um everything’s the same Mrs Tony electronic version of that
31:56
um it worked out very well you know it’s been paper for years um it’s never had an electronic system
32:03
um as far as in the shop everybody picked up on it um and it helps out great you know
32:08
misplaced work orders anything of that nature it’s this is that’s that’s gone that’s in the past
32:14
um it’s stored in the cloud if you need to see history you know you can put your unit number in and it’s there and then one thing to
32:21
help the guys is it it is the same form that we used before
32:26
um so nothing nothing has changed on the form um everything is is exactly the same
32:33
great um Drew’s added a follow-up question there so um
32:39
assuming that there’s some training or transition process involved
32:44
um can you talk to that at all it took us no time I mean I’m telling you because we put it on pads like little
32:50
iPads or Samsung pads and I mean it was simple I mean we’re talking Within
32:57
a few minutes I mean it was pretty much I like to keep watching the kids play on a new app I mean they were they just had
33:03
it figured out pretty quick the biggest thing for me in the shop but that was uh everybody remember to write their
33:10
passwords down to log in so they didn’t forget it uh well once you once you log in it’s you know it’s it’s the same form
33:16
that they’re used to um so it’s you know you type your unit number in it automatically generates
33:21
everything for you um and you just you go you do an inspection through there
33:27
yes um and now another question here separately going back to the audits um
33:32
so you did talk about the audits can you talk a little bit more about how this platform helps if you are audited
33:40
oh all your all your everything’s filed it’s in the cloud so like Cody was just saying whether they come in and you need
33:47
to look at you need in your pools they say Okay pull it on so many trailers or this trailer or a truck you can just go
33:53
in and type in the trailer number the truck number it’s going to pull up everything every service every work order that’s been done to that that unit
33:59
print it off even better yet if they’re at if they’re somewhere on the side of
34:04
the road at a DOT inspection and you need to send it to them you you can email them straight to them so it’s all
34:10
right there in touch and you got it I mean you just it’s simple you’re not looking for paperwork you’re not greasy
34:16
not oily and you can we like the fact that you can email it out if a guy loses his inspection let’s say for his trailer
34:23
and he’s sitting somewhere in another state we can just eat mail it to them
34:28
yes I hope that helps um answer that particular question I’ve got one more here and assuming there’s no more after
34:35
that we’ll probably just wrap up but it’s the last chance to get your questions in uh so one last one here any
34:41
recommendations to other trucking companies uh who wish to undertake a project like this
34:47
where should they start what should they do what would you recommend
34:53
you know let the guys come over and see you I know the sedation some of them came over and sat down with us just to
34:59
see because it’s really customized see what you need because your needs are going to be different than our needs you know what kind of equipment you run or
35:06
what kind of Maintenance you do in-house or not um but once they sat down we just said
35:11
here’s what we need and we showed them they go okay we can do that and we can help in other ways we think and they
35:17
showed us some other cool stuff but I think the first part to getting started is just let them let them see what you
35:22
need you know it could be something very simple or it could be very complex but I think they can they need to see that to
35:29
start because it’s not that’s a great part about it’s not just one platform that fits all that they set it up they
35:35
took ours and said okay here’s the forms here’s what we need to do and they built it around that
35:40
yes um well looks like we have no further questions here at the moment just double
35:46
checking yep so that seems to be it I want to say a huge thank you um Ken Lindsay Cody today has been
35:54
fantastic thank you so much for sharing so openly with us um and thank you for our guests for
35:59
coming along and asking some really great questions if you come up with a question when we end the session today
36:04
please pop it through to the team because they’ll definitely pass it along and come back to you as well with a
36:10
little bit more information um so thank you so much the project was super impressive really appreciate uh
36:16
the three of you hopping on um despite a few nerves you did an awesome job and we really appreciate it
36:22
I just want to say a little reminder we have recorded the session today so we will get that out to everyone after a
36:28
quick quality assurance check should be out in the next couple of days and I just want to say thank you very much for
36:33
joining us and have an awesome rest of your day everyone thank you
